TimeWise2

TimeWise2 (TW2) is a youth development program designed to help young people make the most of their free & leisure time by fostering self-awareness, self-advocacy, personal responsibility, purpose, and creativity. Its core mission is to promote wellbeing, resilience, and healthy lifelong habits through meaningful and healthy leisure-time engagement.

What Is TimeWise2?

TimeWise2 addresses the reality that many young people are unsure how to use their free time constructively or with intention, often defaulting to passive or unhealthy behaviors such as excessive screen time, substance use, or risky activities. These tendencies have been compounded by challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic, which disrupted normal routines, social connections, and support systems.

TW2 seeks to:

  • Equip youth with skills and awareness to engage in enriching leisure and recreational activities.
  • Encourage personal responsibility for how free time is spent, based on developmental readiness.
  • Prevent negative outcomes such as substance abuse, vandalism, mental health struggles, and social isolation.
  • Reinforce that leisure is a universal human right, and that all youth deserve access to enjoyable, meaningful, and healthy free time.

The program is informed by research showing the developmental and wellbeing benefits of healthy free time and responds directly to feedback from educators, parents, and community leaders who observe youth struggling to navigate and enjoy their leisure time effectively.

TimeWise2 sessions can be used in small chunks, longer sessions, daily, weekly or monthly.
